New Ulm, Minnesota is a small town brimming with German-American heritage. It’s a quaint place that exudes old-world charm and a touch of hipster cred. It’s the kind of place where micro-breweries cozy up to junior league baseball games, antique stores and idyllic, unhurried parks. You know, the kind of place millions living in Minneapolis-St. Paul might want to escape to for a weekend—if they only knew about it. Thus did Hermann the German ride out of the pages of history to put “heads in beds” and prove without a doubt that indeed “Germans Have More Fun.”
